Clear your eyes and clear your head,
look to your brothers lying dead,
they fought a lie,
they died in vain,
The war machine has gone insane.
In poverty,
there lies the spark,
the hate, the rage,
the growing dark,
a thirst for power,
never fades,
the debt they,
work their lives to pay.
the tyrant lends,
a helping hand,
choose from the poor,
the weakest man.
with morals outweighed,
by a feeling of pride,
continue the cycle,
and join with their side.
they train him to fight,
in a war with no end,
children with weapons,
only playing pretend.
when he reaches the front,
and he finally sees,
the bodies are piled,
the blood flowing free.
they've killed all the men,
and now who'll take their places,
the children with guns,
and tears on their faces.
his mind becomes lost,
and he lets his gun fall,
he turns from the terror,
away from it all.
he runs from the battle,
he sobs and he cries,
he hears as the youth,
of the world slowly die.
he thinks of the fathers,
the families will lack,
he feels as a bullet,
flies into his back.
darkness consumes,
the light of the day,
he dies as a child,
alone and afraid.
they fought a lie,
they died in vain,
The war machine has gone insane.
